Job description

As a local HR Manager, you will be the first point of contact for our leaders and employees in our Rotterdam office and will serve as a local subject matter expert and provides guidance as required. You will as well partner with HR teams across Comcast to ensure strategies and initiatives are successfully implemented.

We are looking for someone to join us on a 32 hours a week basis.

Core responsibilities

  • Counsel and train managers and supervisors on the interpretation and administration of Human Resources policies;
  • Oversee the correct application of employment laws and regulations (for example social legislation, company procedures and employment contracts), with support from corporate and outside lawyers as needed;
  • Own the execution of transactions, including but not limited to org design changes, terminations, change in pay, work schedule changes, employee contract creation, job requisition creation etc.;
  • Effectively engage with a works council to ensure positive results for the employees and the company;
  • Oversee, handle, and manage employee relations issues. Assist with employee counseling, performance management, corrective action, and grievance handling;
  • Facilitate training classes for managers and/or individual contributors when needed;
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to maintain efficient and effective services;
  • Ensure compliance with local guidelines and policies to protect the business and its employees;
  • Partner with leadership to ensure strategic HR goals, policies, and programs are aligned with business initiatives and ensure the retention of existing staff;
  • Partner with corporate COEs to execute HR strategies, programs, and projects locally;
  • Administer compensation programs and assist in job analysis, job evaluation, and performance management;
  • Partner with recruitment to bring in the right talent in a timely manner and oversee the onboarding process for new hires;
  • Create reoccurring and ad hoc reports for the HR team.

Job specification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
  • Around 6-9 years of related experience;
  • In depth knowledge of Dutch employment law, regulation and right to work essential;
  • Ability to build rapport and trusted relationships at all levels of the organization;
  • Fluent in Dutch;
  • Experience having worked within a matrix, international organization would be a plus;
  • Must be a self-starter with a proactive approach;
  • Will apply independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
